An invisible, but important role: limit switches for stage technology

Electrical drives for above and below stage machinery feature special gear limit switches complying with BGV C1 (formerly VBG 70) that are used for both reliable deactivation in the mobile flying equipment above stage and the high precision positional feedback on the screw type hoist elements below. When needed, the gear limit switch can be supplemented with an intelligent encoder technology as an integrated solution, e.g. also with a defined bus interface. In particular the well-established 51 Series based on a form-fit planetary gear has proved its usefulness for applications demanding a high level of safety in the wide field of theatre technology.
